She explained that Cleopatra actually had Macedonian roots and they had searched for a Macedonian actress to play the role, but none were found. Gal expressed her passion for the character and her intention to honor Cleopatra’s legacy. She encouraged others to put their own spin on the story, challenging filmmakers to do the same and announcing her own Cleopatra project in the works.
